In The Yard, Basho is known as a Corgi who is all chest, gossip, and forgiving eyes. Friends learned long ago not to interrupt Basho near the bone polishers den, especially with a coin with a face nobody recognizes in hand. Old pups warn the young ones that Basho is harder to mislead than to befriend. Basho keeps walking because something in the air around the flying den roof feels like a question worth asking.
