Balzac Eclat is a Poodle of no club, the kind of pup who walks past plain and chooses something braver. On rainy days Balzac Eclat drags a glass jar lantern that flickers with old light out and explains it to a different pup each time. The Yard has a small unspoken rule about teasing Balzac Eclat near the satellite flowers field, mostly because nobody wants to lose. Whatever else changes, Balzac Eclat means to be one of the names answered for when the corridor lights flicker over the cracked freeway loop.
