There is a story going around that Canning Gruff once heard a humming traffic light fragment answer back, briefly. Pups passing the drowned subway tunnels sometimes wave to Canning Gruff out of habit, even on days when nobody is actually there. Every so often Canning Gruff stumbles on a relic too odd to explain and wisely decides to explain it anyway.
