In The Yard, Wagner Holz is known as a German Shepherd who is narrow, serious, and quietly carrying the worries other pups would rather forget. Wagner Holz keeps a chip of blue tile from beneath the flying den tucked away and treats it like evidence in a trial nobody scheduled. There is a soft running joke at the soup stalls about Wagner Holz and the way doors behave around them. Pups who watch Wagner Holz too long sometimes get the feeling that Earth is not finished answering.
