In The Yard, Duras Bijou is known as a Poodle who is decorated like a walking gallery and twice as opinionated. Duras Bijou keeps a private map of the coastal towers, marked with which corners feel kind and which feel watched. On busy market days Duras Bijou carries a glass jar lantern that flickers with old light like a small flag, and stallkeepers nod as it passes. Duras Bijou is convinced the world gets a little fairer every time a friend laughs near the lower mall after rain season.
