In The Yard, Koda is known as a Husky who is moon coated and dramatic, loyal to friends and suspicious of doors. At sunset Koda sits by the mushroom farms and hums to a metal flower from the satellite field until the wind returns the favor. Bakers slip Koda the fresher biscuits near the Soft Hill and pretend they did not. Koda believes ordinary days are where big mysteries hide, usually under a bowl or behind a door nobody checked.
