Theravada has a widespread following in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia. Mahayana, which includes the traditions of Zen, Pure Land, Nichiren Buddhism, Tiantai Buddhism, and Shingon, is practised prominently in Nepal, Malaysia, Bhutan, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan.
