Maria’s reference is the character from the I Don't Have Many Friends manga series Haganai (はがない), short for Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (僕は友達が少ない, loosely "I Don't Have Many Friends"), is a Japanese light novel series written by Yomi Hirasaka, illustrated by Buriki, and published by Media Factory. It has been given several manga adaptations; the first incarnation, its title and basic plot unchanged, began serialization in 2010; it was written and illustrated by Itachi and published in Monthly Comic Alive. Maria Takayama (高山 マリア) is a supporting character from the Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai series. Maria is the supervising teacher and moderator of the Neighbor's Club and is a ten-year-old nun. While being exceptionally gifted in academics, she can also be very rude and immature, when annoyed. Maria is childish and displays this tendency numerous times, even when claiming that she's an adult. Due to Maria being a child prodigy, her arrogance made her unable to socialize with her peers. In 2015, the character took 7th place in the "Best Priest" category according to Shikimori.
