Wolf’s reference is Eye of Michael the from Trigun manga series Trigun (トライガン) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow. Set on the fictional planet known as No Man's Land, the plot follows Vash the Stampede, a famous gunman who is constantly fighting bounty hunters seeking to obtain the immense bounty on his head. Nicholas D. Wolfwood (jap. ニコラス・D・ウルフウッド Nikorasu D. Urufuddo) - also known as Nicholas the Punisher. The hero is a priest who wields the great cross-shaped weapon "Punisher" (パニッシャー, Punisher), which he and his colleagues use to save people or to destroy them. The Eye of Michael is a cult that worships Knives and provides him with assassins. Members take titles reflective of their guns. Not much is known about the origins of the group. They appear to have been based on Catholic teachers. Full members are modified to drastically increase their physical strength and speed beyond human limits and to gain advanced regeneration supplemented by drug vials for extreme wounds. However, the modifications cause members to age at an accelerated pace. In addition, members are trained to continuously analyze opponents and adapt to situations, such that the same tricks will never work twice.
