Alcina’s reference is the Cult of the Black God from the Resident Evil Game series Resident Evil Village is a 2021 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It is the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017). Players control Ethan Winters, who is searching for his kidnapped daughter after a fateful encounter with Chris Redfield and finds himself in a village filled with mutant creatures. Countess Alcina Dimitrescu (オルチーナ・ドミトレスク oruchīna domitoresuku), commonly referred to as Lady Dimitrescu, was a mutant human aristocrat. From the 1950s until she died in 2021, Dimitrescu maintained a pseudo-feudal rule over the peasantry near Castle Dimitrescu as one of the Four Lords of the region. For more than sixty years Dimitrescu was feared and worshiped by the citizens of the area. The Cult of the Black God is a neopagan religion that originated in the mountainous region of Eastern Europe in the 20th century. The cult was created by Miranda as a tool to control the locals to conduct experiments on humans to resurrect her daughter, Eva, who died of the Spanish flu. The cult was destroyed after the destruction of the village and death of the religious leader, Mother Miranda at the hands of Ethan Winters.
