Observation
We sit together, yet drift apart,
Eyes on screens, ignoring beating hearts.
Fingers swipe where voices fade,
Lost in worlds silicon-made.
A child waits, a lover speaks,
But dopamine’s the thrill we seek.
Laughter dims, replaced by pings,
No stars are watched, just glowing screens.
What have we lost? What have we gained?
Are we freed or are we chained?
Childlike wonder replaced by a trance.
Perhaps it’s time we break it.
