Let’s wander down our brambled path where flowers bloom from wounds of past, Like sapling sprouts through mounded ash, and vines that wind toward light to grasp, For darkness pools on forest floors, ‘round worms and rot and apple cores, These gnarled trees with knotted doors, that close us from what came before. The light that filters from above leaves patterns on your skin At every shadows darkened edge, a glowing line begins.
