Observation
Wearing our masks,
Feeding on hearts and souls of others.
Feasting with strangers,
Weaving fate’s hand with tricks up our sleeves.
Searching for the light,
Climbing higher, seeking more.
But what is the endgame, the final destination?
Holding my firstborn, crying, in her first moments,
I whisper softly, a voice she has always known.
She quiets, her blue eyes searching for me,
In her gaze, I find my final destination.
I cast aside the mask,
Yet hold one still, for you,
Should you need in this heavy jungle
