The leader of the Shival faction on Myzrah, Amber was once a rare voice for peace and tolerance. After he was assassinated by rivals at a parley, Amber's lover coerced a rogue Ulsharri scientist to return Amber to life in a cyborg body. He came back profoundly changed, half-mad, and filled with rage. He traveled to the other planets of the Qaphat system, recruiting or kidnapping others for a series of genetic experiments in preparation for war against the Ulsharri, whom he blames for his own misery and for the hardships of his people.
