Joy Turner was taking the trash to the curb one night when she was almost run over by an unmarked armored truck. As the truck swerved, a strange object flew out of the back of it. At that moment, Joy tried to shield herself with the broken toaster she was carrying, and the neighbor's cat leapt at the flying object. Now a single tragic, conflicted entity, Joy can only wonder what the purpose of all this is, running scenarios in her head as she butters her kids' morning toast and scratches at the curtains...
