An Ulsharri scientist sent to Myzrah to act as tutor to Prince Amber of the Avalin, Mardin quickly became embroiled in the local politics of the warlike planet. When Amber was assassinated, the Prince’s lover Mo convinced Mardin to bring him back to life - an act that would haunt Mardin, Mo, and much of the rest of the Qaphat system. This act resulted in Mardin being made the founder of a new House on Ulshar - the first such honor in over three millennia - and also in his banishment from his homeworld.
