Raised as a warrior and designated a royal bodyguard from the time he was a fledgling, Kiamu grew cynical and disillusioned with the pettiness of the rulers of White Mountain. When he was eventually ordered to participate in an assassination plot against a rival's daughter, Kiamu instead escaped with the hatchling and delivered her to safety with the Monks of Five Tree Island, where he began a new life of quiet contemplation and training. After many years, he was admitted to the Monks' inner circle - The Lodge of the Broken Pinion.
