Rose discovered her ability to invert energies when a grade-school bully decided to pick on her. The boy's helpless fury and violence filled Rose with joy and a sense of power and peace that terrified the boy without Rose raising a hand in defense. She has since realized that unless she keeps constant control of her power to adapt and reverse the elemental flows of things around her, she can have terrible and unpredictable effects on those nearby, so she strives to live a spartan, meditative life alone with her plants.
