The Chimera of Pain was drawn into physical existence from The Pit by a Leviathan shard which pierced the boundary of some unfortunate universe. It appears to be immune to (and unaware of) any mortal attempts made to destroy or contain it, as it slowly grows and consumes entire worlds, turning them into flaming cauldrons of eternal agony. It is not clear if the tortured shapes within the Chimera are individual entities, or simply extensions of a single conglomerate whole.
