
When I first heard about the Japanese art and philosophy of kintsugi - using gold when mending broken ceramics to highlight the cracks and imperfections - it was really inspiring. So, when I was making the masks, I decided to dedicate one to a similar idea - how mending ourselves and not hiding our imperfections makes us who we are.
