His origin and species is unknown. What is known about him, what everyone who has seen him on the field of battle will tell you, is that he is the bravest warrior in the universe. Officer Octopus was there at the Battle of Obanling, where he defended just 12 of his comrades sheltering in a cave against 2000 Space Whelks. All his platoon could remember was the sound of the Space Whelks' shells crunching underfoot as they walked away from the decimated battlefield. What about the bottleneck ambush in the Forests of Dunth? You must have heard how Officer Octopus garrotted General Slow Loris with the General’s own plasma whip? They say that even the Warbler Monkeys fell silent that night in deference to the bloodshed. But perhaps his truest moment of valour was on Toberelgin-45 at the Cephalopodian Army’s last stand against the Naked Mole-Rat Warriors . No one really knows what happened that day, because Officer Octopus was found at the top of a pile of his closest friends and bitterest enemies, clutching the laser spear which had impaled him in one hand, and the head of the Naked Mole-Rat King in the other. To the Intergalactic Red Cross who found him, all Officer Octopus could say was “Gargle. Gargle.
