**The Secret Artist #10 —Apocalypse Radio** Many years ago I was given a blank leather-bound book. I decided to call it my book of “unfinished things”, intending to write down random thoughts or sketch any little ideas I had. If you read this book, you will learn two things about me. - I’m genuinely not very good at finishing things. In fact, I’ve barely used even 10 pages. - I can’t actually draw very well, certainly not with colour. When I reached out to Secret Artist #10, they wanted a little direction from me, and suddenly, I remembered the book in my desk drawer. I remembered that I’d had a really nice idea that captured my imagination and was extremely vivid in my head. Yet, when I drew it, I was pretty disappointed with how it turned out (see point 2, above). I had imagined a radio station at the end of earth. The sun had grown fat and red, and had turned most of the planet to dust and desert. The radio station’s DJ didn’t really know if anyone else was still alive or listening, but they kept playing their favourite songs (plenty of desert rock, of course) between apocalyptic jingles and meandering rants. IRL, I imagined maybe making it into a podcast. Perhaps the giant sun had bent the radio waves back in time to our present? In the end, I just made a playlist of songs I liked about the end of the world and did nothing with the drawing. Until, that is, Secret Artist #10 asked me for inspiration. This amazing NFT is their version of that idea, and I absolutely love it, so much so that I debated whether to mint it for The Secret Artist Project or keep it for myself! However, I realised I would take more pleasure in passing the idea and the art on to someone else. As a bonus, and for a bit of fun, along with Secret Artist #10’s identity, I’ve also included a link to my original drawing in the Unlockable Content. And next time you are scanning through radio frequencies, and you come across a station you don’t recognise, maybe you’ll wonder if it isn’t Apocalypse Radio, coming to you live from the end of the earth. Apocalypse Radio is a unique 1/1 piece from **The Secret Artist Project** *** **The Secret Artist Project** A new art world inspired by NFTs opens up creative opportunities for artists and curators. The Secret Artist Project approaches innovative artists from inside and outside of the NFT community for a piece of work that has yet to be minted and adds it anonymously to our collection. This puts the focus on *the art* and not *the artist*. If someone likes the art, they can buy it. Simple. The Secret Artist Project has no Discord, no Telegram, no overambitious roadmap. However, there is one very special extra you receive with your NFT from The Secret Artist Project, and that is... **The Artist** While their identity remains a mystery to everyone else, the artist's details will be revealed to you after purchasing the NFT — as if you've discovered their signature scrawled on the back of their painting. So now you not only have the art to display/hang in your little corner of the Metaverse, you also have the opportunity to discover more of the artist’s work. In addition, by holding the NFT and keeping its secrets, you become part of The Secret Artist Project community. Those who hold secrets, hold power. Who knows, there may even be future incentives for such holders... **The Secret Art Project Aims** Positively impact the artist by putting their art first Introduce new artists to the NFT space (though we reserve the right to include a well-known artist too!) Feature only art we love and collaborate only with artists we trust (i.e. no nasty surprises) *** — The Merchant of Venus, Curator of The Secret Art Project If you have any questions, or if you’re an artist who would like to feature your artwork in the project, please go to The Secret Artist Project collection’s Opensea page for contact details/socials https://opensea.io/collection/the-secret-artist-project
