
It is said "Steampunk" to indicate a lot of interesting things put together in an alternative world with usually Victorian or fantasy traits (sometimes even western as in "Wild Wild West"). It is not precisely our future but a futuristic projection of a past era. But it must be a temporal turn, that is, a historical moment of transition, nuanced because it is more easily contaminable by past and future elements together. So it is a futuristic past with an amazing technology too advanced for that era, but still antiquated and vintage for us, old steamed waste capable of magically shooting rays plasma ... clear no?
