They worshiped a black stone. Saying it was their god, or a way to commune with their god, different story depending on who you ask, be it priest or parishioner. They fed the stone with prayer, they said, but our wisemen tell us that it is something feverishly dark and dangerous. A piece of gloom, an egg of sorts. The more soul it is fed, the sooner it will hatch and unleash a violent anomaly. We will slay them all... and hope it hasn’t reached its fill already.
